This year’s TT Championship is going to be held in a quaint town of Hempstead, TX. Located along Highway 290 and Highway 6, Hempstead is strategically located about 53 miles west of Houston, 110 miles east of Austin, and 200 miles south of Dallas.
The TT course will be an out-and-back between Hempstead and Monaville along Highway 1887. The course itself is relatively flat with only 207 feet of vertical climb in the 40 kilometers distance. The starting line will be at Red River St. (or FM 1887) between San Antonio St. and Hamilton St. The race headquarter and the staging area will be located at Hempstead Middle School (2532 9th Street, Hempstead). There is plenty of parking spots at the Middle School. If needed, the Hempstead High School parking lot can be used as an overflow.
With a typical south or south-southeast wind for the time of the year, we are expecting a lot of people to set the PR for Time Trial with the tailwind to finish the course.
There have been a number of tasks that we have undertaken to make sure that this year's race will be even better than the previous years. The changes are as follows:
We have been working with Waller County Sheriff Department to ensure a safe event.
We will have 2016 TXTTC jersey by our partner Vi13.
We will be using chip timing device to record your time provided by our partner Event Data Solution.
Kroger has been generous in providing us with a start ramp.
We will have food truck for breakfast and lunch by Arcelia Mexican Taqueria along with BBQ by Hempstead Trail Riders for lunch
Las Fuentes at 601 10th St, Hempstead, (http://lasfuentesmexicanrestaurant.net) will be giving racers 20% discount for lunch. Voucher will be provided during race days.
