Group road bike rides are held Monday mornings during the summer and early fall as soon and as long as weather permits; generally June through September. Our rides are open to all ... moreability levels and generally have route options of varying length and difficulty. Although a primary route is provided for each ride, everyone is free to form their own groups to ride any route from the starting point they prefer at their own pace. We also often have leaders for for A (15-17mph average), B (12-15mph) & C groups for those who are new or prefer a more formal group. A pre-ride meeting will be held prior to each ride to discuss routes and group leaders.

Road rides generally start from the Frisco Marina, west Frisco Parking Lot, Dillon Amphitheater, or Breckenridge Recreation Center unless the ride is outside or in the northern part of Summit County.

All rides start at 9:30 am unless otherwise indicated. Specific meeting locations and details for each week's ride and other activities are posted in red on the calendar below as they become known; often sometime the week before so we get a better feel for the expected weather. Just click on an entry for the details. Late additions, changes, cancellations, etc., are posted in our blog.

There is a pot luck picnic after each Monday ride and a grill normally will be available for those that want to cook something for lunch.

Other rides are still in the planning stage. For example we have posted Wednesday rides with Summit County youth and hope many of the regular riders will join them.

For the last 14 years the Twin City Bicycling Club hosted a week of biking for their Minnesota members mid January in the area of Mable Falls. Over the years we enjoyed pedaling with ... moresome of you “locals”, and would welcome the opportunity to do so again.

The event has been reinvigorated moving it to Kerrville - closer to the true hill country - headquartering out of the YO Ranch Hotel. The date was changed to February 10 – 26th taking advantage of warmer weather and longer days.

Do consider biking with us we would enjoy your company! David Gepner 612-861-1703 WentBiking@comcast.net

The 10th Friday's ride from the YO Ranch will leave at 1:30 and offers a choice of a 38 mile loop or a 19 mile option – http://mapshare.delorme.com/Consumer/V.aspx?p=fz73sjh8

The 11th On Saturday we’ll leave the YO Ranch at 9:30 and drive 22 miles over to Fredericksburg to the Old Fair Park (208 E Park St) for a 37 mile loop to the north and then east coming back on Lower Crabapple Rd (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=7016897Close)

The 12th Sunday’s mornings 9:30 ride from the YO takes us south of Kerrville on a couple of loops of either 24 or 40 miles (http://mapshare.delorme.com/Consumer/V.aspx?p=7prrmmb8)

The 13th ride on Monday requires leaving at the YO at 9:15 on a 38 mile NW drive getting us to LBJ Park (199 State Park Rd 52 – Stonewall TX) where we’ll bike the familiar Sandy Loop of 24 or 52 miles. Short cut options on the longer route would reduce the miles by 4 or 7 miles. (http://mapshare.delorme.com/Consumer/V.aspx?p=xwj3qqkd)

The 14th On Tuesday we’ll, again, leave at 9:30 for Old Fair Park and bike a 42 mile loop (http://mapshare.delorme.com/Consumer/V.aspx?p=20vwmg2k)

Join us Tuesday evening where at about 5:30 we'll be dining and celebrating Valentines’ day at Bill’s Bar-B-Que (1909 Junction Highway)

The 15th On Wednesday we’re back to leaving the YO at 9:15 for LBJ Park where there’s a choice of 22, 35 or 60 mile routes - the longer of which goes up to and around the Willow Loop http://mapshare.delorme.com/Consumer/V.aspx?p=h2glt64s

The 16th On Thursday we have the opportunity of biking away at 10 with fellow YO guests that are youthful members of the Matrix Bike Club of Dallas/Ft Worth

Bikin' Betties is a weekly bike ride for female, female-identifying, and gender-nonconforming individuals. It's a great way to meet like-minded chicas, get a bit of a workout, learn ... moreconvenient and safe bike routes around the city, and become more skilled and confident on your bike.

These are "no-drop" rides, meaning no one gets left behind. Ever. Some weeks we'll ride more miles than others, and the routes will vary in intensity – some being easy, hill-less cruises and others being longer, more challenging rides. We’ll end at a bar/restaurant/coffee shop/park/community center or someone's living room, and we might have a beer/do yoga/sing karaoke/watch a film/play board games/go swimming (or hot tubbing), or just hang out and chill.

Every Monday we meet at 8pm, socialize for a bit, then wheels down at 8:20. Check the Events tab for this week's ride details, and feel free to contact Adrienne Whitehorse or Jessica Mason if you have any questions! We're looking forward to riding with you!

the TNT ride starts with a 7.5mi spin meeting at Broad Oaks and Woodcrest (one block into the neighborhood from the old Bucks Bikes on Jollyville) towards the Twin Creeks Country club ... morewhere we will do six 2.5mi laps; the end of each with the option to sprint.
after each lap the group will slow to regroup, or if you are further off the back, you can cut the lap short to merge back in.
laps will average 22-24mph and turn through 3 roundabouts *at speed*. overall ride average is 18.5-20mph.

riders are expected to ride as organized as possible, 2 abreast for most of each lap. once we approach the final stretch you can organize a faster lead out... or simply hold on until the sprint and give it your best.

IMPORTANT NOTES
- even though we sprint, you should not make any aggressive moves or attacks that could put any other riders in danger. this is not a race.
- if the any efforts are too fast, do not ride beyond your abilities trying to hang on to the point that you blow up and cause other riders to brake or swerve around you. maintain your speed and let others pass... or signal and slowly move out of line if it's safe to do so.
- stay organized! the laps are in a residential neighborhood with a country club that hosts events; there will be traffic. we want to do our best not to negatively affect the residential traffic flow.
- YIELD on the roundabouts as necessary. if you are towards the front, look ahead to the roundabouts for cars and call it out. if you are in the group, be aware that the group may need to slow/stop.

if you are new to this ride, please hang towards the back and get a feel for how things operate and make sure you are comfortable with the route, turns and pace.

if you participate in the sprints, also consider working on the front from time to time and/or leading out... you will get a workout!
