Ride is on!
Join us for a variation on the ride to Creedmoor. We'll go out via the Mueller subdivision and the east side and return on the near west side. There will be some stop and go urban ... moreriding, but also some flat semi-rural straightaways.

Riders should bring helmet, water and a spare tube. Please leave earbuds and headphones at home.

The average speed overall will be 13-15 mph, but speeds will probably be faster on some intervals. This is a no-drop ride and we will regroup at hills and corners as necessary.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes early for sign-in and route briefing.

Parking is available north of 51st on Duval and on the side streets around the Flight Path. Please don't park in the alley behind the Peddler and the Flight Path.

Coffee and conversation at the Flight Path after the ride.

Do you feel awkward when on a group ride and need to ask for help in fixing a flat? Don't fret .... we've all been there. Stop by and pick up a few hints on taking the wheel and tire ... moreoff, changing the tube and replacing them. You can either simply watch or bring your bike to practice. If you do the latter, you might want to bring a spare tube just in case of a mishap (pinched tube). If we have time, we can also touch on repairing a tube.

This 28-mile intermediate ride will visit 4 neighborhood parks, home to Art in Public Places TEMPO exhibits: Brentwood Park, Ramsey Park, Bartholomew Park, and Schroeter Park. The ... moreArtRides TEMPO North Route has fewer stops and more mileage than the South Route, finishing with a visit to Shroeter Park off of Duval Rd in northwest Austin. The plan is to explore portions of the new Mopac Bike Path with a cut-through back into the neighborhood via the Hyde Park Baptist Church property which is open for public access. Most of this ride is along fairly comfortable routes but our finish is on Jollyville Rd to the Arboretum. Please judge your abilities fairly against the route description for the safety and enjoyment of other riders. If the ride is a stretch for you, make plans to ride with us on Nov 18th for TEMPO Convergence when the works will be located in East Austin.

This evening bike ride exploring Art in Public Places TEMPO exhibits is beginner and B-Cycle friendly. We'll adjust the route to be between 4 and 10 miles with 2 or 3 stops depending ... moreon the riders in attendance and the heat of the evening. Our targets are art works at the Mexican American Cultural Center, the Carver Library and the Austin Nature Center. We'll meet at Open Room Austin - one of my personal favorites in Austin's public art collection - it's the Alice in Wonderland-looking table with the glowing lights just off the Pfluger Bridge.

Join our regular group of Easy Riders in the rolling country around Elgin. Suitable for advanced beginners, who can ride the stated distance above at an average pace close to our 11 ... moremph minimum, older, social riders or experienced riders wanting a leisurely pace. Group will either meet up at turns, or have individuals mark the turns until the sweep arrives depending on the rider mix. Afterwards, we eat together nearby.

Please note During the summer the rides will be self-organizing amongst the easy riders’ members that show up for the ride. More of a meet up format. Please make sure you are familiar with Bike Austin - Waiver and Release of Liability since you are agreeing to these terms if you ride. A leader and sweep will be selected from the group and either mark turns or wait for the entire group at turns. Also make sure to introduce yourself to other riders.

Take 290 E to Elgin. Go left on Hwy 95 N for 0.1 mile and go through traffic light. Turn right at next street (FM 1100 / Main St).
Go a couple hundred yards and turn left into parking lot of Elgin Memorial park just past sport courts.

Yes, that's right - a fat burner ride: long and steady, no sprints. Those 8 pounds from Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years are still there, so it's time for long miles. Not long HARD ... moremiles, just long miles, so this time we're doing 55 miles on one of our usual routes. Longer rides later. No drop; we'll regroup if necessary anywhere the group can get split, and refuel at the Kyle Valero station. C pace home again. Coffee and conversation afterwards at Mozart's.

Please be sure to arrive a little early for signup and rider's meeting.

BE SURE TO CHECK THIS SITE AFTER 7:00 ON RIDE DAY IN CASE OF RAIN OR DANGEROUSLY HIGH WIND.

START LOCATION: meet (and park) at the back of the "uphill" parking lot across Lake Austin Blvd. from the coffee shop. Look for the old boat on your left up the hill; we're near there.
