Posting Drippingsprings to Blanco again. Last time we had issue with crossing Blanco on Red Coral Ranch Rd. checked last Friday and it was dry (see picture) assuming recent rains will ... morenot change status.

Forecast looks good but a bit cooler, so dress accordingly.

Not been riding so not planning on a agressive ride other than having to get over the hills.

Very much an out and back route only overlaps with our usual Dripping to Wimberly ride a for a few miles at the start. We hit some great country roads "Red Coral Ranch rd" and '"Chimney Valley rd" which parrallel the Blanco for a number of miles. A stretch into Blanco ~5 miles on FM165 where we need to go single file but should be fine for a Sunday ride.

Overall about 2800ft of climbing but mainly rolling no really step sections. Not planning on a killer pace and lots of easy re-group points at the major junctions.

One store stop in Blanco at the turn around point.

We can discuss lunch options after the ride if anyone is interested.

For those of you who want a Strava link see path below.

https://www.strava.com/routes/11488966

Avoids water crossings for the most part a few on "Red Chimney ranch rd" but easy to spot and unlikely to be an issue.

Got an "itch" to ride? We'll get to see how the "Big Rooster" is doing this fall as we'll be riding by it's location.. Join us for this new/old route in the relatively flat expanses ... moreof east Central Texas. The Hutto loop takes us through the quiet farm/ranch lands of east Williamson County. We'll travel on some quiet, country roads (some are chip seal and a little bumpy---air up your ties accordingly!) for a no-drop ride, with re-grouping as needed at the next turn. We'll go east and north out of Hutto, riding just northwest of Taylor: then riding by the "Big Rooster" statue. (Maybe a real Texas Chicken Ranch?) We'll continue north, west, and south into Weir. Then we ride south and east from Weir on our way back to Hutto. We'll have a store stop in Weir at 33 miles. Less than 1350 ft. of climbing per RIDEwithGPS.

NOTE I: Helmets are required on all Bike Austin rides

NOTE II: I do not have maps of this route, but good Q-sheets will be provided and the RIDEwithGPS link is provided here for downloading.

Come with your equipment ready to ride 54 miles, in time to get signed-in and participate in the starter's meeting at 7:15 AM, for a prompt roll-out at 7:30 AM.

If you are not familiar with our ride catagories; please see the following 2 sights to insure you are matched for this ride:

For all those interested (all are invited), we'll have coffee, conversation, and/or lunch at the Texan Cafe & Pie Shop, or the Rio Grande Tex Mex Grill, or Chili's Grill & Bar, in Hutto, after the ride.

We'll start from Fritz Park in Hutto---on the corner of Live Oak St. & Park Ave. On the east side of Hutto, north of US 79. See the start location map below---("click" on the ride title to "open up" the start location map & address).

Check this posting ride day morning in case of a weather cancellation.

Join us on our next Bike & Brews Social Ride! This will be a 10 mile social bike ride where we'll finish back to the Brewtorium for a beer! Enjoy $1 off beers for all participating ... morecyclists!

-The route has no big hills and will be mostly on a protected bike path and bike lanes.
- It will include the Red Line Trail, Justin, Shoal Creek Blvd and several neighborhoods surround The Brewtorium. The route will be a little different than the first social ride last month.
- There will be a water/rest stop half way.
- This is a no drop fun ride at about a 12-15mph pace.

We will meet up at 6:45 PM in front of the Brewtorium with wheels down at 7:00 PM and should back by 8:30 PM. Keep in mind The Brewtorium stops serving our full menu at 9PM, so we suggest ordering dinner as soon as we get back or coming in before the ride for dinner. After 9:00 our late night menu will be available with soft pretzels or Mac n' Beer cheese.

It is recommended to bring water, bike lights, reflective or bright clothing & a helmet. We're working on music for the ride, but if you have speakers, feel free to bring them...it will make for a more lively ride! If your bike needs a little work, please give our friends at Monkey Wrench Bicycles a call at (512) 467-2453!

There is a large bike rack out front and if the rack fills up you are welcome to lock your bike to the railing on the front porch.
