These are good Hutto South wind rides! We are in "Beat-the-Heat" mode for the warmer weather: thus the early (7:00 AM) starting time.
We'll visit "Dud the Donkey", her new baby, & their friends at 23 miles into the ride: so bring some good donkey treats (carrots)!
This will be a 46 mile route. We have our brief visit with "Dud", the new babies, & friends.
Then join us for onr of these new/old routes in the relatively flat expanses of Central Texas. This is a good south wind ride. We'll ride through the quiet farm/ranch lands of southeast Williamson County and northeast Travis county.. We'll travel on some quiet country roads (some are "vintage" chip seal and a little bumpy---air up your ties accordingly!) doing a steady "B" paced (15-16 mph) no-drop ride, with re-grouping as needed at the next turn.
We'll go east out of Hutto, then south by the donkey farm before wandering into Elgin, then turning west & north on our way back into Hutto. With the expected warming weather, we'll have our store stop: in Coupland at 28 miles, for the 46 mile route. Total climbing is under 1280 ft. (46 mile route), per RIDEwithGPS for these routes.
NOTE I: I do not have maps; but Q-sheets will be available for both routes, and the RIDEwithGPS links are provided here for downloading.
NOTE II: Helmets are required on ALL Bike Austin rides.
Come with your equipment ready to ride 46, in time to get signed-in and participate in the starter's meeting at 6:50 AM, for a prompt roll-out at 7:00 AM.
If you are not familiar with our ride catagories; please see the following 2 sights to insure you are matched for this ride:

For all those interested (all are invited), we'll have coffee, conversation, and/or lunch (or just some delicious fresh homemade pie) afterwards at Hutto's "Notorious" Texan Cafe. Try one of their blue plate specials.
Meet at Hutto's Fritz Park on the NE side of Hutto. From Hwy 79 in Hutto go north 0.25 miles on FM 1660 and turn right onto E. Live Oak St. Drive 0.2 miles and turn left into the parking lot (ride start map location attached). Rest Rooms are open/available at Fritz Park.
Check this posting ride day morning in case of a weather cancellation.
