Description
It was the late 1970's when a small group of cyclists in Austin, Texas decided to take on a unique challenge and satisfy a desire for their two favorite things... riding bikes and drinking great tasting beer. It was at that moment in time when the Great Austin to Shiner Pedal was born.

Throughout the years GASP has evolved into one of the biggest, best bike rides in the state of Texas and beyond while at the same time ensuring the small town feel of its roots are not lost. Get ready to hop and your bike, ride a pretty long way and have a great time.

After cyclists cross the finish line at the Spoetzl Brewery, an afternoon of music and food and, of course, ice cold Shiner Beer awaits! We'll have shower trucks set up so you can rinse off and change clothes. Enjoy a little more Shiner hospitality by taking a free tour of the historic Spoetzl Brewery. Free tours of the Spoetzl Brewery will be conducted from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.

We'll see you in Shiner!

Excellent rest stops! Don't miss mile 50 rest stop. Usually there's pizza and other goodies. Sometimes the route is windy. At the end you'll get treated to some hot dogs with coleslaw and shiner beer.
