Starting and ending on the famed LBJ Ranch, the routes take riders under majestic live oaks, past historical landmarks that figured prominently not only in the Johnson family history, ... morebut also in U.S. presidential history. See the descendants of President Johnson's famed Hereford cattle herd as you exit the Ranch. Thereafter, it's on to spectacular Hill Country cycling – on smooth-surfaced ranch-market roads and bucolic, wildflower accented country lanes that will take you back in time. Visit rural, historic Gillespie County schools that do duty as rest stops on this scenic tour. This is truly a "Ride to Preserve History."

Our 36th President loved his ranch. He often conducted presidential business under the spreading oak trees, and he sought solace here from the rigors of the presidency.

As President Johnson told visitors to his beloved Hill Country ranch, "All the world is welcome here!" We want riders in the LBJ 100 Bicycle Tour to feel the same warm welcome and sense of Presidential history as those who came before them.

The LBJ 100 is sponsored by the Friends of the LBJ National Historical Park, a non-profit organization devoted to raising money to support Park activities. All net proceeds from the LBJ 100 are used to support the Park.

It was the late 1970's when a small group of cyclists in Austin, TX decided to take on a unique challenge and satisfy a desire for their two favorite things... riding bikes and drinking ... moregreat tasting beer. It was at that moment in time when the Great Austin to Shiner Pedal was born. Throughout the years GASP has evolved into one of the biggest, best bike rides in the state of Texas and beyond while at the same time ensuring the small town feel of its roots are not lost. Get ready to hop and your bike, ride a pretty long way and have a great time. We'll see you in Shiner!

Bike Out Hunger – Texas is set for May 8-13, 2017 in Fredericksburg I love improving things and this year’s ride, we are changing to stay in Fredericksburg the full time, ... morewithout traveling to other cities and hotels. #unpackonce. The routes will be different each day and will have a shorter (40+/-) or longer (90+/-) daily distance option. Staying in one place makes it easier to participate in all or some days and allows time for work (if you have to) and more relaxation.

Some perks with staying in Fredericksburg the full time.
-It’s Fredericksburg.
-Wonderful, scenic routes.
-One great hotel for the week (Fredericksburg Inn & Suites).
-Leisurely evenings.
-Cookout and catered suppers at the hotel around the pool.
-Ability to come and go through the week or ride all week.
-Saturday “Bike Out Hunger – Fredericksburg” possible event bringing in more riders.
-A few “house concerts” on the hotel grounds by the pool and fireplace.

Things included in the ride.
-SAG
-Stocked stretch points on the routes
-Breakfast at host hotel, if staying at host hotel (Fredericksburg Inn & Suites) which I strongly recommend
-Suppers on the hotel grounds (some catered, some I’ll grill out there for you)
-Discounted massage rates
-Highly sought after Bike Out Hunger 2017 jersey if register by Feb. 28, 2017 free for riders participating in three or more days. For single-day riders, you can earn a jersey for $100…
