Here's a variation on several tried-and-true routes. Ride rolls from Decker Elementary School (corner of Decker Lane and Daffan Lane) in east Austin and goes to Elgin via the southern route, then returns via the middle route. Some nice scenery, a few rollers, no killer climbs.
Distance is about 45 mi. Overall, the average "B" pace will be 14-16 MPH, but we'll do some intervals at 18+. This ride is no-drop for all riders who can maintain that pace. We'll have a store stop in Elgin at 26 miles.
Please arrive in time to get you & your bike ready to ride 45 miles and participte in a rider's start meeting at 8:15 AM to allow a prompt roll-out at 8:30 AM.
Note 1: Helmets are required on all Bike Austin rides.
Note 2: We'll be on some "vintage" Bastrop County "chip-seal" roads into and out of Elgin; so inflate your tires accordingly!!
Note 3: Q-sheets will be available and the RidewithGPS version is attached below for electronic downloading.
