Then we'll ride south on the west side of Elgin and then ride northwest on our way back to Hutto.

We will leave the Peddler at 8:15 and ride to Mozart's to meet up with Stanton's Sunday recovery and social ride at 9. We will ride with Stanton's group for an hour or an hour and ... morea half, at least until we arrive in the Shoal Creek and 45th street area. From there, we will either return to the Peddler or ride a few more miles. The exact route has not been determined, but I expect that at least half of the route will be on city streets. There will be a coffee stop along the way or at the end. Tis the season to be flexible.

Average speed will likely be in the 13's or 14's, but there may be some sustained intervals of 15-20. This is a no drop ride, and we will regroup at corners and hills as necessary.

Riders should bring helmets, water, spare tube, and emergency insurance info. Please leave headphones, earbuds, and boom boxes at home.

We haven't done this route for a while; so I've put together this slightly modified newer version of an "old staple" ride for us to try-----this is a good Saturday/Sunday route-----to ... moremiss the heavy urban weekday traffic!! I plan for this to be a nice social ride (by our old description; a moderate "B" paced ride, we will regroup at turns as needed).

An urban starting location that will quickly get us into the quiet countryside of northeast Travis Ciounty. We'll actually get to ride on Wall Street!!! We'll be on some familiar quiet country roads as we travel north through Cele and then west and south into Manor on our way back to our start location. We have two (2) possible store stops: at 22 and 38 miles. Only 1620 ft. of climbing (per RIDEwithGPS).

NOTE I: Helmets are required on ALL Bike Austin Rides.

NOTE II: I don't have maps of this veriation, but Q-sheets will be provided and the RIDEwithGPS version is attached for electrionic downloading.

NOTE III: Starting from the corner of Centre Creek Dr. & Centre Park Dr. (See detail start location map attached.----parking on the street & NO restroom facilities are at this start location)

Please arrive, with you and your bike ready to ride 51 miles, in time for a 8:50 AM ride start meeting so we can roll promptly at 9:00 AM.

This ride goes west and northwest from the Peddler through neighborhoods to Anderson Mill Road and back (unless you are going on to Alaska). There are several short steep hills and ... morea couple of busy road crossings. Jollyville Road and Anderson Mill Road Road have bike lanes and are popular with bikers, but they can be busy. The ride through the neighborhoods is beautiful and quiet. Coffee/breakfast at Flightpath afterward. Contact Jeff Hufford at 512-657-9381 (can receive texts) with any questions. Note that the actual ride may somewhat vary from the linked map; we occasionally alter routes to best adapt to road conditions, weather and ride participant needs. Ride will be cancelled in case of wet roads, rain or imminent rain. Check ride listing one hour before departure time for weather cancellation. Please arrive 10 minutes in advance of ride start to sign in; we roll at 8:30.
