Description

PHENOM Cycle Club is an Austin-based cycling club with a focus on introducing riders to the sport of cycling and helping developing racers grow and achieve results with a strong spirit of teamwork and community being integral to all we do.

PHENOM leads weekly rides out of Cycleast, and helps to develop riders of all skill levels in a family that fosters sport, friendship, and teamwork. A constant presence at road, cyclocross, track and mountain bike races all over Texas, the club strives to maintain an image of respect for the sport while leaving all pretenses, common to competitive cycling, at home.

The PHENOM Saturday Morning ride meets at 8AM at Cycleast on E Cesar Chavez, every Saturday, rain or shine. Coffee, tacos, and snacks are available from Flat Track Coffee inside of ... moreCycleast before and after the ride. The ride rolls at 830 for 50 miles of rolling hills at a 16-18 MPH average pace.

We typically head southeast at a solid tempo pace, rolling out together and depending on ride size and the leader's discretion, a smaller faster group may split off for a higher-paced intensity workout once the ride leaves the city limits. There is typically one regroup/water stop at a midpoint, followed by a paceline back to Cycleast.

It is a drop ride, and comfortably handling a bike in a paceline is expected and recommended for safety. Come out and start your weekend out right, rolling with the PHENOM Saturday Morning Ride!

Depending on ride size, the ride will split into two groups at ride leader's discretion.

Make sure to bring lights, flat repair gear, and enough water for two hours of solid climbs and chill vibes. The average pace is usually around 12mph (factoring in climbs) but occasional sprint segments on the way back will get a little faster.
