Description

SUNDAY August 28th, 2016

Ride leader Bo Lora

I work at Amazon at the Domain so I figured, why not do a ride from there?

So come join me to get a good workout and get out in the fresh country air. We will ride 93 miles, just short of a century from the Domain. We will head out of town through Howard Lane where we will ride the new extension which has a nice beautiful new bike lane and it is smooth and rolling. From there we will head out to Manor and our first stop. We will ride mostly downhill as we make our way to Bastrop and our second stop then we turn west toward Austin through the little town of Cedar Creek. We will ride by the F1 track, through Burleson road to the east side to make our last stop at an HEB then make our way back to the domain.

The total climbing: under 3000 ft. We will ride at a 14-17mph pace.

We'll have a minimum of 4 store stops (more if needed): at 15, 38, 59 & 80 miles.

Please bring with you (bring plenty to eat/drink) and your bike ready (with lights) to ride 93 miles, in time for sign-in and to participate in a 7:20 AM riders' meeting so we can roll PROMPTLY at 7:30 AM for the benefit of this long ride.

NOTES:
  1. I won't have maps of this course or printed Q-sheets. The RideWithGPS route is attached for electronic downloading and you can also print map and Q-sheets from there.
  2. Helmets are required on all Bike Austin rides.
  3. We'll be riding on some "vintage" Travis, Williamson, & Bastrop County chip-seal roads----inflate your tires accordingly!!
  4. Starting from the parking garage at the Amazon office building on 11501 Alterra Pkwy, Austin, TX 78758
  5. Please check this sight ride day morning for possible weather cancellation.
