Rides suitable for cyclists who are new to the sport (or who have not been on a bike for some years), family-friendly rides or any riders that feel a need for some mentoring. Note: please note that minors under the age of 16 cannot participate in rides unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Families with children should, in any event, confirm with the ride leader ahead of time that the ride will be suitable for their needs.

Intermediate
Targeted towards riders who have a few years in the saddle, who have developed some riding confidence and fitness and feel ready to move to the next level. Could attract more experienced riders who are looking for a relaxed or less aggressive ride.

Advanced
Limited to experienced riders with superior bike handling skills and who are comfortable with a fast pace (probably including single and/or double pace-line riding) and/or hilly terrain, and the possibility of heavily trafficked roads. Advanced rides are less likely to be "no-drop" unless identified as such.

NEWish START LOCATION! 12601 Tech Ridge Blvd, Austin, TX 78753 (i.e. La Tapatia/Little Woodrow’s)
There’s taco shop there in the same strip center as Little Woodrow’s on the southeast corner of Tech Ridge and Parmer. The taco shop is open in the mornings for those wanting to get some food/coffee/rest room before the ride. There is plenty of parking, especially back behind the building.

The Bagel Ride has been around since 1992 and is open to all riders that love riding their bicycles. The ride was formally known as Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure with Bill Ream's assistance. Bill passed away March 2014 but the ride continues in his honor.

There are two groups, both of which roll out together, and then split at the store stop. Short ride is usually 50-60 miles, long ride 70-85 miles. This can be a competitive ride, but tends to stay at a steady tempo, without lots of surges. One of the best group rides in town! Led by Matt, the Bagelmeister.

Violet Crown Sports Association

Chartered in 1981 by a small group of local cyclists, the Violet Crown Sports Association (VCSA) is the oldest continuously active racing and riding club in town. We have over 100 ... moreactive, dues-paying members, and while many of us still race regularly, many of the members have retired from racing and now ride recreationally. We count among our ranks many present and former state champions, and some of our former junior members have gone on to race on national development teams and moved into the pro ranks, including Kristian House, the 2009 British National Road Race Champion. But the main thing we all have in common is that we all love to ride, talk about, work on, and admire bikes. Come join us.
