Join us for a 2-day,self-contained biking / camping trip from Leander along quiet country roads to Dana Peak Park on Stillhouse Hollow Lake. Self-contained bike touring uses a rack ... moreand panniers (or trailer) to haul everything you need for the journey on your bike. Occasionally we recruit a volunteer SAG driver (not organized by the club), so that carrying your own luggage is not required. As of press time, there is no SAG.

Expect to ride about 50 miles each day on some hilly terrain, with a group pace averaging 12 mph. Route sheets will be provided for those who wish to ride faster or slower. We'll stop for Saturday lunch in a cafe in Florence, and set up camp in the afternoon, taking a stroll along the lake before fixing dinner. After a hearty breakfast we'll head back on Sunday, stopping along the way for lunch.

Chip in $5 per person to cover camping (primitive site). Additional funds are needed to buy your own food along the route, and should we have a SAG driver you would need to chip in for his expenses. RSVP needed - leader will need to interview each participant to make sure the trip is right for them.

Riders must wear a helmet, obey all traffic laws, and carry equipment to change a flat tire. Recommended to wear bright color clothing / flashing tail lite and carry cell phone. For camping, bring tent, sleeping bag & pad, raingear, flashlight, change of clothes, towel, toothbrush etc, and eating utensils.

Exact start location will be provided. If likelihood of bad weather is predicted, the trip will be cancelled. Event is co-sponsored with Austin Sierra Club. Assistant leader: Diane N.

We'll be in east & north Williamson County on some quiet farm/ranch roads. We'll ride together across the scenic Granger Dam before turning north towards Bartlett. I've re-routed this ride--following many of the Outlaw Trail 100 roads---to try and avoid the many dirt/gravel roads north of Granger Lake & west of Bartlett. Although the roads my be quiet; some are "vintage" chip seal and a little bumpy---air up your ties accordingly! Expect to ride a steady "B" pace (14-16 mph), no-drop ride, with re-grouping as needed at the next turn.
With the expected late fall weather, we'll have 3 store stops: 1) in Circleville at 24 miles, 2) in Bartlett at 50 miles, & 3) in Weir at 75 miles. Total climbing is 2540 ft. (per RIDEwithGPS)

I'm hosting the classic Dripping Springs To Wimberley ride with a few twists. Sorry for the late posting. No low water crossings, so we do not take the first right on Creek road but ... morekeep going and take a right on Prichnow road (sign posted for MT Gyanor lodge).

We will come out and do a left on Purlsley road which will align with the route people are maybe more familar with.
Then right on Mt Sharp road and right again on Mt Sharp road, as opposed to straight on to Pump road, this is a deviation to what people maybe used to but is a beautiful addition and adds some more climbing.

I intend to ride along River road and HW12 to see the best of Wimberly, then a store stop at the usual gas station opposite HEB.

This ride comes in at 56.6 miles and 3000ft so it is not for the novice and
will be ridden at a fairly aggressive pace 16+ average.

I plan to host from the front with re-group points at key junctions.

Unfortunately RWGPS would not co-operate as far as providing a map.
So I only have a Strava link available, which can only be accessed if you have upgraded Strava membership.
I can email a TCX file if you drop me your email.

Please no requests for ride changes at this late date.
Thanks
